Asbestos

Asbestos Inspections & Testing

Evaluate suspect building materials before renovation, demolition, repair, or abatement through professional inspection and appropriate sampling.

Approach

Identify suspect materials before work begins

Buildings constructed or renovated before asbestos use declined may contain materials that require confirmation before they are disturbed. We survey the areas within the planned scope of work, document suspect materials by location and condition, and collect representative samples where confirmation is needed.

Findings are reported by material, location, and analytical result, so that contractors, designers, and owners can plan the work accordingly.

Commonly assessed materials

  • Pipe and boiler insulation
  • Floor tile, sheet flooring, and mastics
  • Textured ceilings and joint compound
  • Roofing and siding materials
  • Plaster and skim coats
  • Duct wrap and gasket materials
  • Window glazing and caulking
  • Other suspect materials identified during inspection
